NITL’s ongoing research in the area of environmental sustainability is the subject of a paper that was presented at a major international conference in the Netherlands.

The International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA) is a multi-disciplinary network of academics and practitioners dedicated to the development of knowledge concerning Purchasing and Supply Management. Its annual conference – now in its 20th year – is a major event in the annual supply chain management calendar. This year’s event was hosted by Maastricht University based around the theme Vision 20/20 - Preparing today for tomorrow’s challenges. A paper entitled “The impact of 3PL’s green initiatives on the purchasing of transport and logistics services: an exploratory study” was presented at the event. It was written by Maria Huge-Brodin and Karin Isaksson of Linköping University in Sweden, Pietro Evangelista of the University of Naples “Federico II” and Edward Sweeney of NITL. This paper presents the latest findings from this ongoing pan-European research and suggests possible future research avenues for scholars in this area.
