NITL offers its congratulations to Dr. Carolyn Collins on the recent award of a Ph.D. by the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Carolyn has worked with NITL in the management of recent Logistics Ireland conferences. Her Doctoral thesis was entitled “The tromped: a means of prophylaxis for flight related deep vein thrombosis”. Carolyn’s primary degree was also awarded by DIT (in Transport Technology).

In congratulating Carolyn on her achievement at the recent graduation ceremony Edward Sweeney of NITL commented that: “Carolyn’s work was challenging in that it required her to master both the engineering and medical science aspects of her chosen research field. Furthermore, the wider supply chain and transport environment within which this technology is applied is rapidly changing and highly competitive. We commend Dr. Collins on her fine achievement”.
