Ireland’s first National Motor Show for over 20 years took place in the RDS Simmonscourt at the weekend, and the NITL Formula Student car was there at the DIT stand!
DIT’s Department of Transport Engineering had a number of other items on show that were a delight every motor enthusiast including a range of automotive and aviation engines and diagnostics equipment, as well as DIT’s very own rally car helicopter.
In addition, members of the public had the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and strip and re-build an engine. Staff and current students from the Department were available to discuss current courses and career paths in the transport industry.
Declan Allen of the Transport Engineering Department noted that: “The Transport Industry is an exciting area in which to make a career and it offers many opportunities to suitably qualified and motivated people. It is one in which the challenges are great and the rewards substantial. The programmes offered by DIT have been designed to fully prepare and equip graduates to meet the challenges and demands of an ever-changing transport sector”.
