NITL Launches Collaborative SCM Programme with the Irish Dairy Board

(13 Jan 2009)

The first module of NITL’s latest collaborative development programme commenced today. This programme has been designed and developed by NITL in partnership with the Irish Dairy Board (IDB).

IDB is a major international exporter of Irish dairy products, servicing the needs and quality demands of customers world-wide. Since its formation in the early 1960s, IDB has developed in response to the changing global business environment. It is now one of Ireland's biggest exporters and a major food distribution company in overseas markets, with annual sales of over €2 billion.

IDB recognises the criticality of all aspects of its supply chain operations to the successful achievement of its mission. For this reason, recent years have seen significant changes in how IDB’s supply chain is configured and managed across the diversified products, cheese, powders and butter product ranges. The new programme aims to upgrade the knowledge and skills of key personnel involved in all aspects of SCM in IDB. The programme is structured around three modules which address various key aspects of SCM, as follows:

  • Introduction to SCM
  • Supply Chain Integrity
  • Transport and Warehousing Operations Management
