In the lead up to Christmas, NITL staff are delighted to be involved in two major academic conferences in Asia.

The Silver Jubilee International Conference on Services Management (SJICSM 09) based around the theme of Best and Next Practices in Services Management is being held this week to mark the silver jubilee of VIT University in Tamil Nadu, India. NITL staff, Edward Sweeney and Claudia Wagner, as well as NITL module leader Dan Park, are members of the International Advisory Committee of the event. Meanwhile, the International Conference on Logistics and Transport (ICLT 2009) is being held in Chiangmai, Thailand. The theme of the event is Innovative Management in Global Logistics and Transport and is organised by the Thai Researchers’ Consortium of Value Chain Management and Logistics (VCML) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in Thailand, in cooperation with the US Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). The latest results of NITL’s ongoing research into the application of technology in third party logistics providers (3PLs) will be presented at the conference. The title of the paper is ‘ICT Innovation Diffusion in Small Logistics Service Providers: An Empirical Survey’ by Pietro Evangelista, Edward Sweeney, Emilio Esposito and Claudia Wagner.
