Only 20 days until launch – Don’t miss the opportunity
An interactive web-based competition, which helps businesses train its staff to understand the impact a supply chain has on company performance, has been launched by supply chain consultants, SCALA and endorsed by the NITL in Ireland.
The Fresh Connection encourages teams of professionals from all industries to compete against each other online, challenging participants to save a failing ‘virtual’ business by focusing on the main elements of the supply chain process, including operations, sales and procurement.
Used as a training and development tool to identify what is needed to run a supply chain and improve company performance, the game’s challenge is to use teamwork and industry expertise to save the virtual fruit juice manufacturer from its demise and develop it into a profitable company.
Over a seven week period, starting on 12 April, it involves weekly heats during which teams will make tactical and strategic decisions to save the business - each stage demonstrating its importance towards the process of creating an efficient supply chain.
The competition will culminate in a prestigious final at the stunning location of Wroxall Abbey in July where the winning team will be selected using a detailed performance evaluation and presented with four ‘Platinum’ tickets to The British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The competition, which has previously run successfully in Holland, has already confirmed teams from the likes of Wincanton, Kimberly Clark, Heinz, Cadbury’s, Bernard Matthews and Kraft.
