NITL is delighted to welcome two visiting scholars, Antonino Raspagliesi and Juan Jaime. Antonino is visiting from Politecnico di Milano and Juan from the University of Southern California.
The Politecnico di Milano was established in 1863 by a group of scholars and entrepreneurs belonging to prominent Milanese families. It is now ranked as one of the most outstanding European universities in engineering, architecture and industrial design, and in many disciplines is regarded as a leading research institution worldwide. The number of students enrolled currently is approximately 40,000 (see http://www.polimi.it). Antonino is working on the application of technology in third-party logistics providers, an area in which NITL has longstanding collaborations with several Italian scholars.
Located in Los Angeles, the University of Southern California (USC) is one of the world’s leading private research universities. It enrolls more international students than any other U.S. university and offers extensive opportunities for internships and study abroad. With a strong tradition of integrating liberal and professional education, USC fosters a vibrant culture of public service and encourages students to cross academic as well as geographic boundaries in their pursuit of knowledge (see http://www.usc.edu). Juan is working with NITL on the use of e-marketplaces in the aviation industry.
